CEO, John Salvatore

John Salvatore

John Salvatore serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Carlstar Group focused on the continued and sustained growth of the company through innovation and customer partnerships. He leads the global organization of over 3,500 employees with 14 office, manufacturing and distribution facilities located across four countries. Mr. Salvatore has over 33 years of executive experience in the industrial sector. Most recently, he spent 15 years in the Construction Chemical industry, with Degussa Construction Chemicals and then BASF, as President and CEO of the business operations in the Americas. Mr. Salvatore holds a Bachelor’s of Technology, Architectural Sciences from Ryerson University and has studied Business and Marketing at the University of Western Ontario, Ivey School of Business and York University.

 


Chris Peetz, COO for Carlstar Group

Chris Peetz serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for The Carlstar Group and is responsible leading the global network for tire and wheel operations. This includes the company’s Manufacturing, Engineering, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution, Quality and Continuous Improvement activities across the globe.

Mr. Peetz spent over 20 years in executive and leadership roles both domestic and internationally and in a variety of industries. In his previous role with Howden Fan Company as the Vice President of Global Manufacturing, he focused on building strong teams, quality processes, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Mr. Peetz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Production and Operations Management from Ball State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends but especially on the Lacrosse field with his boys. He’s also an avid outdoorsman and enjoys most anything outside like hiking, hunting, exercise, running and biking.


Max Narancich, CFO at The Carlstar Group

Max Narancich serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for The Carlstar Group and oversees the development of the strategic and tactical plans for business improvement, capital budgeting and investment processes, and financial management of the company.

Mr. Narancich joined The Carlstar Group in 2011 where he has served as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and as the Vice President of Operational Finance overseeing all operational controlling and management of the global network. Prior to joining The Carlstar Group Mr. Narancich has spent 15 years in progressive Financial and Leadership capacities. Mr. Narancich holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Arkansas.

In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his kid’s baseball and basketball teams.


Laren Harmon, EVP of Sales for The Carlstar Group

Laren Harmon

Executive Vice President, Sales
The Carlstar Group

Laren Harmon serves as the Executive Vice President of Sales for The Carlstar Group leading the implementation of global growth strategies that emphasize customer satisfaction in the specialty tire and styled wheel markets. He leads a global sales organization as well as inside Customer Service and Support teams throughout the company.

Prior to joining The Carlstar Group in 2015, Mr. Harmon spent 19 years working for Michelin in various Sales and Management roles. Mr. Harmon holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Furman University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Florida State University. He is also a member of the Liberty Fellowship as well as a graduate of the Aspen Institute.

In his spare time, he enjoys home improvement projects, racquetball, playing guitar, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.


Ashish Goel, EVP of Marketing for The Carlstar Group

Ashish Goel

Ashish Goel serves as the Executive Vice President of Marketing for The Carlstar Group leading the commercial organization, focused on the design and execution of market segment strategies aimed at developing the company’s brand reputation and aggressively growing the business globally.

Mr. Goel brings with him over 20 years of experience and has served in a variety of roles in his career in the areas of Marketing, Product Management, Business Development, Sales, and profitability improvement. He was most recently the Business Director of a $400 million Construction Material and Fiber Bonding business with BASF. Mr. Goel holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Cornell University and Queens University as well as a Masters of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. He has also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds two patents in manufacturing and distribution process innovation.

In his spare time, he enjoys travelling to different parts of the world, cooking different types of cuisines and experiencing different cultures.


Jon Matthews, VP of Human Resources

Jonathan Mathews

Vice President, Human Resources
The Carlstar Group

Jonathan (Jon) Mathews serves as the Vice President of Human Resources for The Carlstar Group and is focused on developing a global talent strategy to help support the growth of the company. Mr. Mathews leads the global Human Resource function and helps foster a culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, talent acquisition, retention and building the best team for sustainable growth.

Mr. Mathews spent 28 years working for BASF / Englehard focused on the Operational and Manufacturing side of the business with support for security, training, Environmental, Health and Safety, and all management represented and manufacturing employee relations, as well as supporting the Commercial side of the business through strategy deployment, employee talent and acquisition, and development. Mr. Mathews holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Human Resources from Cleveland State University as well as a number of other certifications throughout his career.

In his spare time, he enjoys boating and making home-brewed beer.
